2. Presentations
Theme
- The theme of the symposium is “Advancing Clinical Skills”.
- This theme embodies our commitment at CSDS to enhancing clinical skills by exploring innovative approaches, tools, and techniques that push the boundaries of healthcare.
Topic
- We encourage you to share insights that demonstrate how your work can be applied in real-world settings, whether through technology, methodology, collaboration, or other means that contribute to improved patient outcomes.
Format
- We are adopting a TED-style (lightning) format for our talks—15-20 minutes that are short, sharp, and sweet, with a strong emphasis on actionable insights.
- Just as TED presentations are known for their clarity and impact, we encourage you to distill your key messages into a concise format that resonates with the audience and inspires them to take action.
- Focus on delivering content that is thought-provoking and immediately applicable.
- Consider framing your talk around impactful case studies, emerging trends, or visionary ideas that can drive meaningful change in clinical environments.
Slide deck
- Keep slides simple and focused—avoid complicated graphics, data tables, or all-text slides.
- Ensure that any unoriginal graphics, data, or information are properly cited.
- Slide decks must be submitted in PowerPoint (.ppt) format. If you prefer another format, please notify us immediately.
- Embed any videos or audio directly into your slides.
- If you require assistance in preparing your slides, please email Raden. We’ll connect you with our Product Design Team who can assist with preparing your slides.
- Email your slide deck to Sille or Raden by Friday, 6th September so we can pre-load it for your presentation.
AV equipment
- A microphone (handheld or lapel) and a slide advancer (clicker) will be provided to allow you to move around the presentation area.
- We are finalising the setup of the presentation area and will update you if a “presenter view” will be available during your talk.
- We strongly advise using our equipment to minimise technical difficulties.
- If you need an internet connection for demonstrations or have additional AV requirements, please inform Sille Ilves or Raden as soon as possible.
3. Panel discussion
- The panel discussion will begin at 15:00 and last approximately 45 minutes. This session is designed to explore the key themes and ideas presented during the symposium, providing a platform for a dynamic exchange of perspectives among speakers and attendees.
- The panel will include all the speakers, moderated by the event host. The discussion will be informal yet structured, allowing for both prepared remarks and spontaneous interactions.
- The moderator will kick off the discussion with the first question: “What is the biggest challenge right now in advancing clinical skills?”
- After the initial round of questions, the discussion will shift to a more interactive format, where panelists can respond to each other’s points, debate ideas, and build on the comments of others.
The final segment will be an audience Q&A, allowing attendees to engage directly with the panelists.
